This lovely patient reached out to me with concerns of dry, itchy, inflamed skin. After reviewing her routine, we discovered she was using a new vitamin A (retinol) based serum twice daily for 2 weeks, which damaged her skin barrier. We paused the retinol based serum, focused on calming facials + barrier repair at home, and her skin is now looking much calmer, healthier, and glowing again 💆‍♀️

💡 Reminder: introduce retinol gradually — start with twice a week for the first 2 weeks, then every other night for the next 2 weeks, and only move to nightly use if your skin is tolerating it well. And don’t forget: always apply SPF the next morning after using vitamin A

This is such an important step for me and for all of you who trust me with your treatments, as by gaining this qualification l'll be able to prescribe directly without relying on external prescribers, strengthen safety and compliance within aesthetic practice, and offer a smoother and more efficient treatment journey.
